Hey everyone, and welcome to my first blog post of my new website: Kayla’s Crochet Corner. So, we all are aware that Valentine's Day is in 4 days, and if you are dying to crochet something for this occasion, I've got you covered!
These hearts are so cute and really easy to make! And, believe me, I have tested these again and again. Last week, (are you ready?), I made 39 hearts! Yes, 39. So, I made them bookmarks (idea by Holly Auna), and I made them freebies for anyone who purchases from my Etsy shop. I made 13 red, 13 pink, and 13 white. I kept 3 of each color because I love reading. But now you know I tested them.
So, if you want to do and crochet 20 for someone, you can! But, without a further ado, shouldn’t we get into the pattern?

Abbreviations
Ch: chain
Sl st: slip stitch
Sc: single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
Dc: double crochet
Mr: magic ring
Fo: fasten off
Special stitches:
Mr: I will try to explain the magic ring as simple as possible: With your yarn, wrap your hand twice, creating a “X” with the working yarn on your right (if right-handed), and put your hook in the first loop, and grab the second loop and ch 1 (basically). The take the yarn off your hands and crochet around the tail.
If this is too complicating, ch 2, and do the indicated stitches in the second ch, or ch 4, slip stitch in the first stitch, and do the indicated stitches in the small circle you made with the 4 chains.
Sl st: Go into the indicated stitch, and pull up a loop, then go through your second loop on your hook with the loop you just pulled up.
Dc: Yarn over, and go into the indicated area, and pull up a loop. Yarn over, and pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through the last two remaining loops.
Hdc: Yarn over and go into the indicated stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all three loops on your hook.

Instructions:
Rnd 1 (ONLY RND!): Make a mr, and in the mr (stay with me), ch 3, then do 2 dcs, 2 hdc, and 2 scs, then do 1 dc. Okay, slowly closed the mr by pulling the tail. You just made the first side of the heart and the arch on the bottom.
Then now, do 2 scs, 2 hdcs, and 2 dcs. After that ch 2 and sl st in the mr. Basically, you juat copy the first step, but in reverse (does that make sense?). Pull your tail tight, and fo. I like to tie the tail with the yarn I just cut to make it secure.
You could weave in your ends, or you could just cut the yarn (after tying it).
So, you now have an adorable heart! Thank you for following this pattern, and if you want to share your opinion, please do!
I hope you had fun doing this pattern, and if you have any suggestions, do contact me in the contact section, and HAPPY CROCHETING!
