Designing a New Pattern: Part One!

Now, let’s take a moment to talk about “Pattern Designing.” I have an active mind, and when you mix crocheting with such, you’re always crocheting then!! But, let’s go deeper—when you mix pattern designing, crocheting, and an active mind, you’re always thinking of new patterns to make!

Hello! Today, this post is going to be one of a series, where you will come along with me as I design a new pattern. So, I am not just going to write 500 words in a sitting, instead this is going to be a writing I come back to and where I am going to update you guys on my design process, etc.

I have been recently really getting into designing patterns. I have a No-Sew Bee and Flower pattern, and a Granny Star pattern that are currently in the public. However, in total, I do have 10 patterns. These include:

· No-Sew Bee (image above)

· No-Sew Flower

· Snowman

· Cake

· USA Flag

· Stress Ball (or ball in general)

· Octopus

· Granny Star

· AND

· Medium Turtle

· Small Turtle

So, some of those need work, like the cake and USA flag. The snowman and stress ball need more design. But the Granny Star will be published soon, as well as the bee and flower. The Octopus is pretty good too, so I might soon do a pattern test. But then we come to the two turtles. Well, I kind of just love them!!!! It all started with an idea Wednesday, which gave birth to an amazing creation—a nice sized turtle. I made another to test it, and I loved the next. But then, I wanted to make a smaller size, so that is what I did. However, I kind of ran into an issue with that.

Further, I ran out of the yarn I was using, and all I have to do is make the head! But I will probably have to put this work on hold unless I just create a whole other one in a different color combo.

There, we talked about all my patterns. Oh, actually, I do have a 2-5 minute heart pattern as well, which you can find on this blog and my Instagram (@kaylascrochetcorner33). But anyway, we are going to focus on adding another pattern to our list, making it 12! However, that is to be postponed until next time! So, stick around! 😉
